KNF warns against company impersonating well-known bank

The Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) entered JonGroce Limited, Kingstown, on the list of public warnings. Comapny operates using the website. KNF also sent a notice to the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw on suspicion of committing a crime concerning brokerage activity conducted by this company in the territory of Poland without the permission of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority.

The forex platform operating through impersonates the well-known French bank Credit Agricole. The company’s logo resembles the bank’s logo and the platform itself presented as a part of the French bank. Bank Credit Agricole has announced that it will notify the public prosecutor’s office and the tax authorities.

Some clients of the platform lost even a few million PLN. The customers of ignored the fact that the “account managers” speak with an Eastern accent, call each time with a different number and ask for data that should not be shared with anyone. Clients in their ‘investment accounts’ saw that they were earning money. So they paid additional amounts. Some of them even lost a few million PLN.  According to the newspaper’s investigation, the platform’s servers were registered in 2018 in Russia.
